LAUNCH OF ELBTROPHY

On Friday, 1 June 2018 ELBTROPHY will have its premiere on the banks of the river Elbe. DCNH (German Nodic Dogs Club) promotes all Nordic and Asiatic dog breeds in Germany. These include the Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Finnish Lapphund and Swedish Västgötaspets as well as hunting dogs such as the East and West Siberian Laika. Asian breeds include the Shiba and the Akita.

Breeders from Germany and abroad will flock to Winsen/Luhe for the first time in order to present their best dogs at ELBTROPHY 2018. A special ring will be set up on the grounds of the AlpaSuri Alpaca farm and preparations are well underway to ensure a first-class event for participating dog breeders and visiting dog lovers.

A highly educational and entertaining programme will complement the actual dog show. It includes a special lecture by Prof. Dr. Ottmar Distl from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover Foundation on the latest findings in genetic research on hereditary eye diseases in Nordic dogs. This ground-breaking research project is entirely sponsored by the COSMO Foundation. In organizing this lecture at ELBTROPHY we would like to make a contribution to creating more awareness on this topic in a key target group, i.e. premium dog breeders.

“At ELBTROPHY we would like to create a new benchmark for premium dog shows. We want to meet the highest standards not only for the organization but also the aesthetics of our event. And we shall do our utmost to ensure that all participants and visitors will look back at our show with fond memories,“ says Barbara Bruns, president of DCNH Nord.
