COSMO Art & Science Foundation donates sculptural art
for the fire station in Laßrönne
In the presence of invited guests, the newly built fire station in Laßrönne was inaugurated on 14 May 2022. On this occasion, the Cosmo Art&Science Foundation, based in Winsen, donated a sculpture by the internationally acclaimed artist Stefan Szczesny.
The sculpture ‘Fischer’, made of Corten steel, beautifies the exterior of the building’s modern architecture. The German-born artist lives and works in St Tropez. He loves the sea and knows the Nordic landscape in Laßrönne well. In his work as well as in his life, the maritime environment plays a major role. Further works of art by Mr Szczesny can be admired in Eckermannpark in Winsen. Another significant work of art by Szczesny ‘The Tree of Life’ will be exhibited in Grimaud, France by the COSMO Art&Science Foundation from 27 May to 15 October 2022.
The COSMO Art&Science Foundation was established in 2013 and since then has made a supportive contribution to science as well as cultural activities. The foundation is driven by the idea that the promotion of art and culture as well as the preservation of animal health are important building blocks in the respectful treatment of humans and nature. The sculpture ‘Fischer’ reflects precisely these values and is therefore a perfect fit for the fire station on the Elbe.
In 2022, the Foundation was able to reach another milestone and is now working with Maddy Rosenberg in New York City, USA.
